Welcome to You Talkin' to Me? Toastmasters club #1716558! The only "attitude" is in the name. This exciting club will help you dramatically improve your communication and leadership skills. Distinguished Toastmaster, Scott Hoehn elaborates here, on the many educational awards available through the Toastmasters program. Everything from effective body language, vocal variety, motivational techniques and more are included in the educational materials members receive upon joining. "We learn best in moments of enjoyment" were the words of Toastmaster's founder, Dr. Ralph Smedley, more than 87 years ago. That premise prevails in all Toastmasters meetings. Come and find out what all the smiling is about!Co "One of the Advanced Communication programs which had a project entitled Speaking in Praise, helped me prepare a eulogy I gave for my father", says Toastmaster Hoehn. "However, I knew it wasn't appropriate to bring in an evaluator for my speech at that time" he jokes. Scott's father introduced him to Toastmasters thirty years ago, which he states "...was the greatest gift dad ever gave me!" You can start your own family tradition, as Toastmasters is open to all adults ages 18 and over.
First time guest and incoming member, Marilyn Rodriguez wins the Table Topics Award on June 23, 2011, presented here by Nancy Hoehn. Marilyn is a supervisor for a pharmaceutical company, who knows the importance of effective communication. Not only did she bring Erin Marketish, an employee she supervises, but she will be bringing several other co-workers next week. Bring em' on, Marilyn!!! Club Secretary, Nancy Hoehn is pictured here leading the "kickoff" meeting. During friendly, upbeat meetings set in a casual atmosphere, members take turns presenting short speeches which later receive helpful evaluations from fellow members. These practices not only help with speaking skills but also develop effective listening skills.

"It's all about communication" says District 84 Public Relations Officer and You Talkin' To Me Club Secretary, Nancy Hoehn. "We saw a beautiful location with plenty of energetic people and instantly knew they could benefit from the Toastmasters program!" Nancy said. More than a dozen people attended the very first meeting and by the second meeting, THREE brand new guests already gave their "Icebreaker" speech! Come join the fun every Thursday evening from 6:30 to 8:00pm
